Kristen Bell’s ‘Nobody Wants This’ Podcast House Wants $3.8 Million

While we can’t help you manifest a relationship like Adam Brody and Kristen Bell’s odd-duck romance on the hit Netflix dramedy, Nobody Wants This, we have one idea about how you might set your intentions for domestic bliss: Why not move into the charming Mediterranean-style bungalow where Bell’s character, Joanne, records her podcast? It just hit the market with Marc Noah of Sotheby’s International Realty for a cool $3.8 million.

I’ll bite. How big is the house and where is it?

Originally designed by the New York and Palm Beach-based studio of David Lucido, the 3,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-bathroom property was featured in ELLE DECOR in November 2023. It’s situated on almost a quarter of an acre in downtown Los Angeles, near LACMA. Originally built in 1926, it also has a guest house and a pool.

The home’s open-plan kitchen features a large center island.

What changes were made to the home during renovation?

Lucido rid the space of termites and mold and set about creating a refined sanctuary outfitted with unglazed terra-cotta tiles and an intentionally spare color palette in the communal spaces. Moments of color—a green primary bedroom, a ceiling in Farrow & Ball’s Templeton Pink—add personality and warmth.

The kitchen was completely gutted and now features a large island and appliances from Wolf, Miele, and Fisher & Paykel. Cabinets are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Caponata. Bathrooms feature Waterworks fittings. “What’s nice about this home is that there’s an old-fashioned procession to the rooms that we had to adjust only slightly,” Lucido told ELLE DECOR.

What are the differences between the home in real life and on the show?

Netflix replaced a lot of the decorative objects, art and accessories that Lucido had selected, presumably hoping to give the home more of an “every girl” appeal for Bell’s character, whose podcast deals with relationship advice.

We reached back out to Lucido via email to get his choice words for when the show returns for season 2: “My advice is to edit. Less is more! The character is a grown woman and some of the over-accessorizing doesn’t reflect well on her.”

The ball is in your court, Netflix.
