Call me a snob, but I am extremely picky when it comes to sheets. I want it all: My bedding needs to be soft, cool enough so my husband doesn’t complain, and warm enough that I don’t shiver all night long. I used to think I was a purist, opting for cotton sheets over anything else, but one set of bedding changed my mind: Cozy Earth’s Bamboo Sheets.
Why are Cozy Earth bamboo sheets so popular?
While hundreds of reviewers have raved over Cozy Earth’s bedding for years now, I was pushed to test these out largely because Oprah named them as one of her favorites. Never one to ignore an icon’s advice, I got my hands on a set of my own. Now, two months later (and a second set added to my collection–I couldn’t go back to my regular bedding on wash days), I can officially say that I have no desire to sleep on anything else ever again.
What are bamboo sheets like?
When I first pulled my striped bamboo sheets out of Cozy Earth’s adorable tote bag—which comes with every set you purchase—my first thought was that they felt like a sateen weave. The set comes with a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. I typically sleep with a silk pillowcase to protect my hair and skin, but I found that with my Cozy Earth bamboo option, I didn’t need to. Night after night, I was impressed with the texture, how lightweight the fabric felt, and how little maintenance they required. I washed and dried them in my apartment’s rickety machines without any issue, and every time they came out just as soft, without noticeable wrinkles.
What are bamboo sheets made of?
Like the name suggests, Cozy Earth’s sheets are made from viscose from bamboo. Beyond the silky texture that comes from this material, bamboo sheets have a few other benefits. They’re considered better for the environment, since bamboo is both natural yet require less water to grow. They’re also hypoallergenic, which is hugely beneficial for someone like me, who gets sniffly around too much dust. I also found that compared to my cotton bedding, Cozy Earth’s fabrics were far softer and more lightweight than anything I’d tried before. I was a little worried that the thin fabric would tear easily, but so far I haven’t seen even a loose thread.
Are there any downsides to Cozy Earth’s bamboo sheets?
I have almost nothing negative to say about my Cozy Earth bedding. I do wish they would swap in a duvet cover for the flat sheet—I’m not a flat sheet person, personally—but other than that, I find them near-flawless. The only real downside is the price: The three-piece set for a Queen-sized bed comes in at over $300, and an accompanying duvet cover is nearly the same. Overall, though, given how much my sleep has improved with this bedding, I would pay the price again and again.
