Diane Keaton’s Pinterest Dream Home Is for Sale for $28.9 Million

Imagine the love child of a Nancy Meyers set design and a really great Pinterest board, and you’ll come close to understanding Diane Keaton’s latest real estate offering. The Oscar-winning actress and serial home flipping enthusiast is selling her Sullivan Canyon dream home for $28.9 million, and after nearly 14 years of ownership.

Originally purchased for $4.7 million in 2011, the property underwent a massive transformation that Keaton documented in her book, The House That Pinterest Built. Inspired by a childhood memory of The Three Little Pigs and guided by her longtime friend and filmmaker Nancy Meyers, Keaton embarked on a three-year renovation that completely reimagined the 1920s dwelling.

On the border of Brentwood and Pacific Palisades, the 9,200-square-foot space feels like it could have stepped out of one of Keaton’s beloved films. Working with architect David Takacs and designers Stephen Shadley, Cynthia Carlson, and Toben Windahl, she transformed an existing structure into a rustic-industrial earthquake-and fire-resistant home. Seventy-five thousand reclaimed clay bricks (personally selected and shipped from Chicago) later and voilà—a home was born.

Nestled on a 0.65-acre lot, the property includes five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The main living area features high wood-beam ceilings with metal pendant light fixtures and a fireplace set within a whitewashed brick wall. In the kitchen, a blue-gray island, cabinetry accented with chicken wire, a Sub-Zero cooler, and an oversized vintage wine storage cabinet.

Outside, the property offers a heated pool with a spillover spa, a rustic wood-clad guesthouse, and a fireside patio. A circular driveway leads to a spacious motor court and a detached two-car garage.

For Keaton, 79, this home was different from her previous properties—she thought it may be the place where she would finally settle down. “Something’s right, because I love it,” she told Wine Spectator of the property. Known for her eye for design and her ability to transform neglected spaces, Keaton has bought, renovated, and sold multiple properties over the years.

With this Diane Keaton-original, someone’s about to become the luckiest homeowner in Sullivan Canyon.
