Inside Meghan Markle’s Real Montecito Kitchen

Today, the Duchess of Sussex launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, with a collection of curated home products that promptly sold out. But, in announcing the big day, the Duchess of Sussex also shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of her brand on Instagram. In the two videos posted on April 1, the Duchess of Sussex can be seen dancing in what appears to be the kitchen of her Montecito home.

In the first clip, Meghan, dressed down in a white sweatshirt and jeans, is stirring the contents of two pots. In the second, Meghan is leaning over a table as she checks the packaging for one of the As Ever products. Items from the brand—herbal teas, honey, and berry jam—are semi-effortlessly displayed around her. «From the start to the finish. What an adventure it’s been,» she captioned the reel.

Unlike the minimal white farmhouse kitchen featured in her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, (belonging to a rented rustic Victorian farmhouse located on five acres of land), Meghan’s personal kitchen features two islands, a weathered wooden one and a marble one, overseen by about an overhead pan rack carrying dozen copper pots and pans. It’s all complemented by a backdrop of wooden cabinets and patterned blue-and-white backsplash tiles that could look Italian. There’s also a Viking stove supplanted beneath a rustic stone overhang—inhabited, of course, by two large Le Creuset pots.

Beyond the kitchen center, there’s an old-fashioned butler’s pantry displaying glasses and tea sets within its cabinets, as well as a modern pantry stuffed with carefully organized ingredients and snacks, according to the New York Times, which shared an exclusive with Meghan today in light of the As Ever launch.

“Shelves hold cookbooks by Giada De Laurentiis, Yotam Ottolenghi and Toni Tipton-Martin, and a well-thumbed copy of From Seed to Skillet, the 2010 classic by the celebrity gardener Jimmy Williams about creating and cooking from a home garden,” the publication wrote. “And just outside the door, a framed picture of Harry as a boy with his mother, Princess Diana, holds pride of place.”

After breaking a nearly five-year-long Instagram hiatus with the debut of the handle @meghan in January, it seems the recovering royal (as the New York Times calls her) is making up for lost time in the limelight. We’ve seen her on screen in her Netflix series,With Love, Meghan, in her home on Instagram, and now—in the retail market. If that’s your jam (pun intended), we have a feeling this won’t be the end of it.
