Emma Stone’s Austin Home Is on the Market for $26.5 Million

Emma Stone and her husband, comedian Dave McCary, purchased a newly renovated Austin, Texas home in 2021, and planned to move there. Now, the La La Land star and McCary are instead selling the estate for $26.5 million, according to a release from Moreland Properties/Forbes Global Properties.

Eric Moreland, one of the listing agents, told the Wall Street Journal that, while the couple hopes to live in Austin at some point, their New York business plans have grown and they’re not yet ready to move.

The exterior features Georgian-style windows and Greek columns.

Designed by architecture firm Cuppett Kilpatrick, the home has been under construction for more than three years and is set to be completed this summer. It’s located in Tarrytown, one of Austin’s oldest enclaves. “Just a half a mile from the Walsh Boat Landing on Lady Bird Lake, and minutes from downtown, the location is perfect for those who want peaceful surroundings but also to enjoy the excitement of the city,” the listing says.

The kitchen was opened up to the living room with bounteous storage space.

The 10,000-square-foot Georgian-style home was built around 1940 and now features four bedrooms, a screening room and entertaining space, a pool and hot tub, a sunlit solarium, paneled library, playroom, three-car garage, and a two-bedroom guest house. The listing discusses the home’s “exquisite millwork” (apparently it took more than a year to install the millwork in the screening room), herringbone oak and brick floors, marble fireplace surrounds and counters, and leaded-glass windows. The renovation involved a reconfiguration of some of the living spaces, to achieve a more open living plan. They also removed, cleaned, and reused the home’s exterior bricks.

The home is situated on 1.24 acres of land that has water features, a cutting garden, fairy garden, and plenty of lawn space for entertaining.

This isn’t Stone’s first real estate purchase. In 2019, she purchased a home in Los Angeles’ Comstock Hills neighborhood for $2.3 million—selling it last year for an impressive $4.3 million. She also bought a home in Malibu, California in 2022, later selling it for $4.42 million.
