Devoted urbanites will want to put the Czech Republic at the top of their calendars this season, with the opening of the new Almanac X Prague, a century-old landmark hotel that draws on its original architect’s Bauhaus and Art Deco inspirations.

The Barcelona-based firm Tres Cinco Uno Creative Studio worked with local architecture firm Marani to modernize the 178 guest rooms, 26 suites, and public spaces, incorporating a color palette inspired by the facades, roofs, and historic buildings of the city, alongside artworks by local painters and local materials like Czech limestone and pendant lighting that nods to the country’s glass traditions.
