Will There Be a Season 4 of ‘And Just Like That’?

Season three of And Just Like That premieres today and we’re already wondering if we’ll be getting a season four. While HBO Max has yet to officially announce whether the series will continue beyond its current run, the show’s track record and fan theories suggest renewal prospects remain strong, despite some behind-the-scenes turbulence heading into the new season.

The series has consistently delivered for Max as their most-watched original title, with HBO and Max chief content officer Casey Bloys previously stating that renewal decisions ultimately rest with show runner Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker rather than the streaming platform.

Season three arrives after cast shake-ups. Sara Ramírez, who played Che Diaz, exited ahead of the new season, along with Karen Pittman’s Professor Nya Wallace, due to scheduling conflicts with other projects. These departures follow season two’s course corrections, with addressed many of the pacing issues and character development problems that plagued the inaugural season, according to fans.

Despite delays from the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes, the network moved forward with a 12-episode third season, premiering today, that will run through August 14. New additions include Rosie O’Donnell as a character named Mary, plus recurring roles for Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, and Logan Marshall-Green.

Historically, Max has taken a data-driven approach to renewals, analyzing viewership metrics and reception before making announcements. A season four announcement likely depends on how season three performs over the coming months. The streaming platform typically makes renewal decisions within a few months of a season’s conclusion, meaning fans should expect clarity by fall 2025.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
