Will There Be a Second Season of Sirens? Here’s Everything We Know.

Warning: The below contains spoilers for the first season of Sirens, streaming on Netflix now.

The ending of the first season of Netflix’s latest binge, Sirens, was as about as satisfying as a (terrifyingly steep) cliffhanger can be, which is to say, we definitely need more.

Will Devon (Meghann Fahy) finally get to cruise down to Miami with her yacht captain Prince Charming? Will she team up with Michaela Kell (Julianne Moore) in her divorce from Peter (Kevin Bacon)? Or will they be defeated, once and for all, by Simone (Milly Alcock), soon to be the next Mrs. Kell? Here’s everything we know so far.

So, will there be a second season?

First, the bad news: Netflix takes weeks, even months, to announce if its shows, even popular ones, are officially returning. So as expected, we haven’t yet heard if there will be a second season of Sirens.

Now the good news: Right now, Sirens is the number one show on Netflix, which is a great sign for its chances at renewal. All that’s left is to play the waiting game (which Michaela definitely would do very glamorously).

What would Season 2 look like?

We last saw Devon on the deck of a boat, looking out to shore alongside Michaela. By the end of the season, Devon came to understand that Michaela was no witch (either in personality or magical power): She is merely a woman living at the whims of a powerful man desperate for self preservation.

Now, perhaps, it’s Simone’s turn to learn the same lesson. Just before the rest of the class departed on the ferry, Simone announced that she and Peter were beginning a relationship—thereby leaving her sister and best friend behind.

Looking down from her perch at the new top of the Kell family home, Simone said farewell to her sister and former boss, with the signature “Hey Hey” that Michaela had chanted like a preppy communion throughout the series, as the former Mrs. Kell was kicked out of her own (incredible) house.

Season two could then perhaps explore the fallout. We’d love to see Michaela (a former lawyer) engage in an all-out War of the Roses style divorce. Maybe she’ll be aided by Devon, as the older sister once again tries to save her younger sister. This time, though, from Peter Kell rather than Michaela. Most importantly, though, is that it’s set in that incredible beachside mansion from the first season.

When would it premiere?

Given Netflix’s turn-around schedule in the past, it will likely be a few years before we see the next season.

What should I watch in the meantime?

Production designer John Paino previously worked on prestige TV hits including Big Little Lies (on HBO Max) and The Morning Show (on Apple TV+). Also similar is The Perfect Couple, streaming on Netflix now.

The first season of Sirens is streaming on Netflix now. We will update this story as we hear further details about Season 2.
