The Dior Spring/Summer 2026 men’s show just wrapped up—and even the invitations made a statement. Guests at the show in Paris today, including Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, Pharrell, Sabrina Carpenter, Daniel Craig, and Donatella Versace, received a sleek metallic gray box containing a porcelain plate adorned with three eggs. It’s a playful nod to 19th-century French faience trompe l’oeil, when faux dishes were set out to amuse guests, and a subtle tribute to the maison’s heritage.
“A search through the Dior archives led me to reissue a ceramic plate as the invite for the show,” Irish designer Jonathan Anderson teased in a video of the unboxing on Instagram. But more than anything, it signals that Anderson’s debut as Dior’s new creative director is the creative alchemy we didn’t know we were missing.
Anderson, the designer behind JW Anderson and Loewe’s creative lead for over a decade, has officially taken the reins of both menswear and womenswear. This week, he set the fashion world abuzz with Instagram teasers from his debut Dior Men’s collection. This included images from his mood board, offering a peek into his inspiration for the collection, including portraits by Andy Warhol of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Lee Radziwill. “As I started out on this journey, I kept returning to these photographs of Basquiat and Radziwill who are both, for me, the epitome of style,” Anderson wrote in the Instagram caption.
The next day, he shared images of a clever reimagining of the house’s iconic Book tote—this time rendered as actual book covers. One riffed on the original 1897 book cover of Bram Stoker’s Dracula; another nodded to Les Liaisons Dangereuses, both in rich, moody palettes. A third, more understated in beige, was stamped with silky ribbon and the phrase “Dior by Dior”—a subtle homage to the brand’s own literary legacy. This was followed by a clip showing football superstar Kylian Mbappé tying a striped necktie over a blue-and-white oxford shirt and boxy grey jacket and him donning a jet black tuxedo to the tune of classical music.
Anderson has spent the past decade at the creative helm of Loewe, also designing for his own eponymous label, JW Anderson. Beyond fashion, he has also made his mark in film, crafting compelling costume designs for Luca Guadagnino’s movies Queer and Challengers. The Dior Men’s Spring/Summer 2026 show debuted today at 8 AM ET.
