Inside All of Charlotte York’s New York Apartments

Charlotte York-Goldenblatt has never met a throw pillow she couldn’t perfectly fluff or a dinner party she couldn’t execute with military precision.

Unlike her friends who frequently relocated throughout Manhattan, Charlotte established herself at one primary address that became central to her character development. Her spaces reflect her background as an art dealer and carried her through her evolution from single woman to wife and mother. And after twenty-five years of flawless entertaining and impeccable decorating, Charlotte still has some of the best real estate taste on television.

Before Charlotte became Mrs. Trey MacDougal, she was a successful art dealer residing in her own apartment at 275 Central Park West. This Upper West Side residence had unobstructed Central Park views, classic prewar bones, and antique furniture. This was where Charlotte first entertained the girls, where she dreamed of her perfect wedding, and where she began to collect the Madame Alexander dolls that would become a constant throughout her homes.

The Park Avenue Palace

Charlotte’s main residence is her apartment at 930 Park Avenue, which she lived in through the original series, two movies, and now into And Just Like That…

When Charlotte married cardiac surgeon Trey MacDougal in season three of Sex and the City, she moved into his family’s Upper East Side apartment. The home’s exterior was shot at a 13-story apartment building on East 81st Street, constructed in 1916 by renowned New York architecture firm Schwartz & Gross.

The interiors of the apartment were created on soundstages at Silvercup Studios in New York City by production designer Jeremy Conway and his team. The spacious three-bedroom, three-bathroom layout features high ceilings, exceptional lighting, and the famous dining room with cream wallpaper and delicate pink leaf details.

When Charlotte’s marriage to Trey crumbled, she faced the prospect of losing not just her marriage but also her dream home. But thanks to Harry Goldenblatt, the sharp-tongued divorce lawyer who eventually became her second husband, Charlotte walked away from the marriage with the apartment.

The space also became a character in its own right during Sex and the City: The Movie, where Charlotte’s room received updates with new Anichini bed linens, symmetrical dark lacquered bedside tables, and built-in bookcases.

Throughout the series and its spinoffs, the Park Avenue palace has served as the backdrop for countless pivotal scenes that defined Charlotte’s character arc. It witnessed her struggles with fertility, her joy at adopting Lily, and now her happiness with her family of four.

In And Just Like That…, Charlotte continues to call 930 Park Avenue home, now sharing the space with Harry and their two daughters, Lily and Rose.
