Gwyneth Paltrow Just Sold Her $22 Million Brentwood Home

If you were hoping to pack your bags and move into an A-list’s 12,761 square-foot mansion, we come bearing bad news: Gwyneth Paltrow’s LA home was just taken off the market. The actress and founder originally listed her home for a whopping $29.99 million just last year, but after lowering the price a few months back, the home she shared with writer and producer Brad Falchuk finally sold for $22 million, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The house was originally built in the 1950s and was renovated by Paltrow and Chris Martin in 2009.

The sale was due to Paltrow’s desire to downsize, her realtor told the Wall Street Journal, now that her (and singer Chris Martin’s) children, Apple and Moses, are growing up and attending college at Vanderbilt and Brown, respectively.

Paltrow and Martin originally bought their 1950s Brentwood estate in 2012 for $9.95 million—so they haven’t exactly lost money on the sale. This home boasts six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and a large kitchen that features two cooktops, a wood fire oven, and massive windows. The guesthouse—we’re still waiting for our invitation to come stay—has a gym, a wine cellar, a movie theater, and an office. Now that Paltrow no longer owns the Brentwood home, she will most likely reside in one of her other properties in Montecito, California, and New York.

While Paltrow’s home was spared by the LA fires that ravaged the city earlier this month, the Goop founder pledged to donate $2 million to relief efforts. In a message on Instagram she wrote, «The loss is incalculable…Every house is a haven, and a witness to the people who made it a home.»
