Aspen’s Snow Lodge isn’t just a weekend destination for the après crowd, it’s a lifestyle unto itself. Brazilian-born founder Jayma Cardoso, of Montauk’s Surf Lodge fame, wouldn’t have it any other way. Tucked away inside the St. Regis Aspen resort, The Snow Lodge is part supper club (with a kitchen overseen by executive chef Preston Hix), part member’s club (VIPs retreat to the Jade Room, a velvet-swaddled cocktail bar and caviar lounge), and, of course, the ultimate Après-Ski club, with an outdoor music series that has seen the likes of Diplo take the stage.
It makes sense, then, that having achieved so much, the only thing Cardoso could want is simply more. Enter: The Snow Lodge Suite, a bespoke “hotel within a hotel,” designed by Antonio Di Oronzo of the firm Bluarch, a frequent collaborator of Cardoso’s.
The 2,350-square-foot space is outfitted with custom furniture and lighting, all fabricated in Italy. A soft palette of warm neutrals is broken up by high-shine burled wood accents, plush Hermès accessories and a bit of Baccarat for good measure.
“Jayma and I wanted to cater to an elevated and relaxed lifestyle,” Di Oronzo tells ELLE DECOR. “This project presented an opportunity for us to create a new set of design values for the hotel iteration of the Snow Lodge, and our tastes and our interests invariably converge upon the arts.”
To that end, a selection of blue chip artworks curated by Aktion Art, the Aspen outpost of which is conveniently situated mere blocks from the hotel, lines the walls. If the DJs in the courtyard don’t command your attention, perhaps one of the pieces by Alex Katz, Joseph Albers, Ansel Adams, Basquiat, or Dustin Yellin—amongst many others—will.
The suite also comes with its own kitchen, ample storage space for skis and gear, and a selection of wellness products from By Dria. So set your hot toddy down and make your way out west—the Snow Lodge Suite is open until the end of the season.
